Standard terms are FOB (Free On Board) — our responsibility covers everything up to loading your cargo at a Nigerian port or airport. CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) is available on select routes; ask our team when you submit a sourcing request and we'll confirm whether it's available for your destination.
How Sourcing Works
Source from Nigeria with confidence
A clear, step-by-step look at how we take a sourcing request from first inquiry to delivery - and exactly where our responsibility ends and yours begins.
What JUMTA Does as a Sourcing Partner
Removing the ambiguity from cross-border sourcing
Sourcing from a new country and a new supplier is where most international trade relationships stall - not because the product isn't good, but because it's unclear who's actually accountable at each stage.
JUMTA Export exists to remove that ambiguity. We manage supplier verification, quality checks, export documentation, and Nigerian customs clearance directly as a licensed agent, not a broker relaying work to third parties. What we hand off, we hand off clearly, and we tell you exactly where that handoff happens.

The Sourcing Process
Seven steps, start to finish
- 01
Understanding Your Requirements
We begin by understanding exactly what you need - product, specifications, quantity, destination, target requirements, and timeline.
- 02
Finding & Evaluating Suppliers
We identify suitable Nigerian producers and suppliers based on your product requirements and evaluate their capability and reliability.
- 03
Product Verification & Quality Checks
Before anything is confirmed for shipment, we verify the product against the grade and specification you requested.
- 04
Confirm Pricing & Terms
We don't publish fixed prices — commodity pricing moves with market conditions, season, and volume. We source competitive quotes from our supplier network and come back to you directly, typically within 24 hours.
- 05
Prepare Export Documentation
We prepare and coordinate all required Nigerian export documentation — this is handled in-house, not outsourced.
- 06
Customs Clearance
As a licensed customs agent, we manage export clearance through Nigerian ports and airports directly.
- 07
Freight & Delivery Coordination
We coordinate cargo movement to the port or airport and loading onto your chosen vessel or carrier. See below for exactly where our responsibility for freight ends.

Pricing & Payment Terms
How pricing and payment work
Pricing
We quote per sourcing request rather than publishing fixed prices. This reflects real market pricing rather than a stale price list, and it means your quote is based on your actual quantity and timeline, not a generic estimate.
Payment
For new buyers, we typically work on a Letter of Credit (LC) basis. This protects both sides and doesn't require either party to extend trust on faith alone. For established or repeat relationships, a deposit-plus-balance-before-shipment arrangement may be available. Your account team will confirm what applies to your order when you submit a sourcing request.
